Talk: Roads Less Travelled

  • Irish Agriculture Museum, Johnstown Castle Estate Oldtown Lane Johnstown, WX, Y35 HP22 Ireland (map)

With the iconic car parked in Johnstown Castle Estate’s farm courtyard, this pit stop will be an opportunity to hear more about the origins of this joined adventure which started last year when visual artist Liliane Puthod fixed her late father’s Renault 4 with the help of friends mechanics in her hometown in Haute-Savoie before driving across France to Ireland accompanied by writer Ingrid Lyons.

‘From Star to Car’ – by curator Matt Wheeler, reveals the history of the Wexford Engineering ‘Star’ site and how it transformed from the manufacture of ‘Star’ ploughs to assembling Renault 4 cars.

The event will be followed by a tour of the Museum where one of the last Renault 4 of Ireland is on display.

Book your free ticket here. This pitstop is presented by tour de force in partnership with Irish Agriculture Museum.
